AUG Treasury
So here I am, Treasurer of the Atheist Union of Greece (AUG) for the first time and I realize that everything in here is manual. THE HORROR!!! All incomes, expenses, subscriptions, donations, members, subscribers etc. in plain Excel Sheets and Receipts on paper! Of course I would never allow this to continue under my supervision (kiddin’, TBH the previous Treasurers where really attentive and respectful to their position). Thus, I started designing a fully integrated software system for the Treasury of AUG.

The process of data-analysis and design (I’m not gonna lie to you) was a horrifying experience. Hundreds of transactions from the beginning of the Union’s foundation where carefully studied, normalized, found mistakes where dully noted and transformed to “validation requirements”, all physical documents where digitalized and re-ordered, parsers I wrote “read” all these information and produced valuable data, summaries, found mistakes I had missed, duplicates and so on and so forth. In the end, I had a clear vision on what the AUG Treasury App should do, and it resulted into a gigantic, fully configurable, secure, encrypted integrated system that with a few clicks here and there allow the Treasurer of the Union to manage the entirety of Union’s financial data. From now on, all the treasurer has to do is to enter some records (an income or an expense). Everything else (funds update, balance recalculation, annual balance sheet generation, subscriber’s status update and many more) is automated, ready to be printed and presented at the annual General Assembly.
